Costa Rica is a beautiful country with a lot to do, but if you head there on a vacation without an itinerary you are going to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what sights you want to see instead of actually seeing any. If you are looking for fun things to do, here are some of the top sights in Costa Rica that everyone should see while they visit this adventurous country:

Volcano Helicopter Tours – This is a fantastic night time activity for tourists. The Arenal Volcano National Park has some of the best views when it comes to staring into pits of molten hot magma. Your pilot/ tour guide will show you unimaginable aerial views and take you right next to the largest active volcanoes in Costa Rica. If you look closely you can even see lava bubbling up and popping from inside the calderas of the Volcanoes.

White Water Rafting – Costa Rica is famous for its white water rafting trips that run through the country’s lush rainforests. These boating adventures are filled with adrenaline fueled bumpy rides that switch to smooth and serene cruises as you get to soak in the sun, wildlife and beautiful rainforest vegetation that surrounds you.

Explore Different Exotic Beaches – Manuel Antonio National Park is a nature reserve that has beautiful white sandy beaches and further back from the water is an amazing rainforest filled with gorgeous and dense plant life. These forests are even populated by various types of adorable monkeys. These shores tend to be a bit more isolated than the major tourist beaches throughout the country. If you are looking for a private getaway with the family, or a romantic day trip with an intimate friend, Manuel Antonio National Park could be the perfect adventure.

Soak in Some Costa Rican History – If you are a history buff, or looking to educate yourself, you should head to the Plaza de la Cultura were you can find the National Theater and the Museum of Gold. The area around the Plaza de la Cultura has some of the oldest colonial architecture in Costa Rica and the insides of these buildings are beautifully adorned with artistic gold interiors. The area itself is breath taking and the history behind each building is fascinating.

Costa Rica’s Famous Butterfly Farm – This may surprise you, but Costa Rica is South America’s largest exporter of farm raised butterflies and home to numerous insect and bug museums. The most famous insect exhibit is inside of the Hotel Chalet Tirol, where Dr. Richard Whitten displays some of the most exotic species of indigenous bugs and insects.

Think Costa Rica and the only image that comes to mind are of fantastic beaches. It is the major attraction because the place has warm waters throughout the year and very good tourism infrastructure. Ranked among one of the best beaches, Costa Rica has innumerable attraction spanning across two coasts. As almost two third of Costa Rica’s is surrounded by the sea, you have many beaches to choose from.

Nicoya Peninsula is not just a single beach. Rather being the largest peninsula of Costa Rica, Nicoya Peninsula has many blissful beaches. Apart from beach cities such as Tamarindo and Montezuma, Nicoya also has more relaxing and remote Pacific beaches such as Samara, Playas Hermosa, Conchal, Playa Grande and Flamingo. Manuel Antonio is considered among the best beaches of Costa Rica but of the world. Close your eyes and you can imagine the beauty of a beach with white sand, horseshoe bays, blue-green water, and streaming waterfalls. Do whatever you like such as diving, snorkeling, surfing or hiking. In excitement do not forget to relax surrounded by the breathtakingly beautiful views.

Playa Dominical is located around 30 miles south of Manuel Antonio National Park, Playa Dominical is rated among one of the best surfing beaches of Costa Rica. You can see many shops and surfing camps that cater to the demand here. However, if you are not interested in surfing you will still love the green landscape here and also the nightlife. Montezuma, which is located on Nicoya peninsula’s inner base, is a place for the country’s most distinctive travelers. Exceptional beauty of this picturesque beach coupled with surfers, waterfalls and a chance to see wildlife are the major attractions here.

On Caribbean side of Costa Rica, Tortuguero is fit for eco-tourists. You can use dugout canoes to go down jungle canals, take a hiking trail among the scenic views or even choose for a guided safari. An interesting fact is that out of the total endangered species of Costa Rica, 16 such as manatees, ocelots, green sea turtles and tapirs can be found living in Tortuguero National Park. After a long adventurous tour you can be sure of a perfect sunbath at the beaches. The place offers good dining, shopping, and coastal amusements. However, if you are a budget traveler than you might it expensive but the beauty of the place makes every spending worthwhile. On the beaches you can see big leatherback turtles apart from other species that come here every year to lay eggs.

Costa Rica is well known throughout North America for being a very popular vacation destination. Although it is notorious for its beauty, it is also recognized for its unlimited number of fun and exciting activities. If you are considering visiting Costa Rica, you may want to do some research and learn what the best option is for you. Beaches, cruises, swamp treks, 4x4ing, snorkelling and horseback riding are just a few of the many sights and activities this paradise has to offer.

Since the natural beauty of Costa Rica is what attracts many tourists, many people choose to focus on the nature and take in as much of it as possible. If you are interested in doing the same, you may want to consider making reservations for a guided tour, especially if this is your first time in the country. You may tour the Poas Volcano, Manuel Antonio National Park, Monteverde National Reserve, or Costa Rica’s most active volcano, Arenal. There are hundreds of tours and sights to see, unless your visit is for an extended period of time, you will not be able to see everything on your first visit here.

If you are truly interested in having your travel adventure be adventurous, look into some exciting adventure activities. A fun and unforgettable experience may consist of white water rafting, zip-lining, horseback riding on the beach, bungee jumping, swimming with dolphins, snorkelling, surfing, ATV-ing, or even learning to Scuba dive! The choices are endless, and if you do not want to book everything separately, you can easily find a Costa Rican Adventure Package with all of your favourite activities included.

Another activity that you may enjoy while on a Costa Rica travel adventure is a cruise. Cruises are a great way to enjoy a fun and relaxed environment with no stress. Most will take you not only to Costa Rica, but to Nicaragua and Panama as well. Cruises are breathtaking, and they will take you along the white sand beaches, as well as through the tropical rainforests. You never know what beautiful wildlife species you will find on a Costa Rica cruise.

Located in the southernmost Central America, Costa Rica is surrounded by three different surface waters including Panama Canal On south-east, the Pacific Ocean on the south-west and in the west and the ocean of the Caribbean on the east. Costa Rica is geographically a small country, but despite this, nobody can deny that it has an endless number of attractions and places to see. It has over 50 beaches and more than 160 parks, reserves and conservation areas and several of the most active volcanoes in the world Site seeing is a never ending pleasure in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has plenty of activities to keep each visitor active.

Lets take for example the highlight of Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast, the Manuel Antonio Park. The park is a small but popular place because of its white sandy beaches and dense rain forest. Sunbathers flock to the beaches throughout the week. This stretch of coastline between the Nicoya and Osa peninsulas has several other low-key beach towns, including Playa del Jaco. Costa Rica is one of the most biologically diverse places in the world. In regard to this, more than a quarter of Costa Rica is under protection that includes some conservation areas and forest reserves. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, on the other hand, requires an arduous uphill drive on unpaved roads. Upon reaching it, the trek is worth the hike through the cloud forest. There are a lot of flora and fauna that thrive in the environment.

The quetzal, an iridescent green bird with an extravagant long tail, is the most popular spot in the Forest. Many one of a kind species can be seen. It includes the rain frog and other colourful amphibians. You can also lure the dangerous tarantulas out of their lairs should you choose to. In San Jose and the Central Valley, there are a lot of activities that it sure to keep every tourist on the go. One of its many interesting attractions is the Museo del Oro Precolombino, which exhibits gold dating back to 500 A.D. The Museo del Jade, with its impressive, ornate jade collection. The distant surrounding has many rainforest between villages. People can explore the rain forest by boat through a system of canals that bring each one close to spider monkeys and three-toed sloths.

Lake Arenal is one of the country’s largest bodies of water, it is a relatively undiscovered region. People can easily find last minute accommodation to rent, even during high seasons. The activities can range from horseback riding to windsurfing. The most popular attraction is the Volcan Arenal. Many tourists spend the night here just to catch a glimpse of the country’s most active volcano. They watch the lava flow down the volcano’s western side. This experience is truly awesome and completely unforgettable.
