San Jose Costa Rica Real Estate

Being the capital and the largest city of naturally rich Costa Rica, San Jose has grown to be a bustling and expansive metropolitan area ever since its foundation in 1737. It has been deemed to be one of the most cosmopolitan and diverse cities in the whole of Central America.

It is also a very developed city, and holds about one million people. In addition to this, it is home to the Juan Santamaria International Airport, which continues to be the main entry point for most tourists and foreigners who come into this wonderful country. It is about a 20-minute drive to the busiest part of the city, downtown San Jose.
Costa Rica is recognized all over the world for being a politically and socially stable country. Aside from that, it boasts of having the greatest area of protected land and water resources by percentage, owing to the utmost value it puts on the preservation of its natural resources. It also has some of the best beaches in the world, and the warmth and hospitality of its people can hardly be surpassed. As such, the capital city of San Jose is central to it all, and as a consequence of this, San Jose and Costa Rica in general has been the choice holiday sanctuary and retirement haven for individuals and families the world over.

Not surprisingly, there has been a roaring surge in the demand for real estate in San Jose, Costa Rica. To be specific, an increase in the construction of new residential sites and neighborhoods in San Jose has been witnessed in the last few years. This is especially due to the fact that it serves as a hub to and from which travelers and inhabitants alike can travel and explore the rest of Costa Rica. Furthermore, the myriad of restaurants, hotels, shops, malls, museums, banks, bars, hospitals, markets and the like add to the appeal of this sprawling conurbation. Add to that its fast paced night life, bolstering the allure that San Jose already has to offer.

The city of San Jose is simply divine, being ensconced in the Central Valley surrounded by lush virgin cloud forests on immense volcanic mountain ranges. One common misconception is that there are beaches in San Jose, most probably because Costa Rica is so well known for its beaches. On the contrary, it is about 4000 feet above sea level. There are, however, a lot of nearby beaches, such as Jaco Beach. Nonetheless, the cool climate that comes with being nestled up in the mountains is one of the things that draw people here.

At present, condominiums are the hottest piece of real estate in San Jose. These appeal not just to vacationers, residents, and expatriates, but also to investors looking to make substantial gains on the realty market. Although a bit pricier than in most other towns and cities in the country, real estate sales in San Jose continue to be snapped up the moment they are offered. This is mainly because the returns that are expected to be made are enormous, or it may be because retirees and aspiring inhabitants simply want to snatch a piece of paradise before prices escalate even higher.
